Issue Fifty-Three: December 2013


Dear Readers,

Welcome to Issue Fifty-Three of The Collagist.  In this issue,
 we have fiction by
 Ben Segal,
 Tasha Coryell, TaraShea Nesbit, and Matthew Volmer, as well as a novel excerpt from 
Kevin Sampsell.

In poetry this month, we have new work from Geffrey Davis, Laura Van Prooyen, Marci Rae Johnson,
 J.P. Grasser.  This month's nonfiction is from Brenda Rankin.

Our book review section contains coverage of Three Scenarios in Which Hana Sasaki Grows a Tail By Kelly Luce (reviewed by Lindsey Hauck), Charms Against Lightning by James Arthur (reviewed by Lauren Hilger), X Marks the Dress: A Registry by Kristina Marie Darling & Carol Guess (reviewed by Laura Madeline Wiseman),  and Housebound by Elizabeth Gentry (reviewed by Angela Woodward).

We're also excited to announce that we'll be working with DISQUIET to publish the poetry winner of the DISQUIET Literary Prizes next year. The contest is open through February 15th, and information can be found here
